Faith Under Pressure The Christians in Colossae were under pressure from multiple sources: the Empire, and their former belief systems from both Jewish and pagan worlds. Paul writes to encourage and challenge the young church to live out of a new way that is centered firmly on Christ alone. When pressure comes (and it will!) - how do we work out our faith in Christ in a way that demonstrates the inbreaking of this new kingdom we’re called into? How do we understand allegiance to Christ above our allegiance to every system (government, culture, religion etc.) and every worldview? And how do we grow our faith while under pressure, and during the day-to-day practicalities of life?
